And? They are still losing marketshare. Apple is growing much slower than the market. And yes Android ships more *phones* than Apple ships *total* iOS *devices* (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad) per quarter (40 million Android smartphones compared to 33 million iOS devices).

And? No one expects Apple to be the market share leader. There are dozen of companies selling Androids. None come close to Apple's market share. None come close to Apple's profitability.

As an AAPL holder, what more can I ask?

I will buy the MBA when it gets a backlit keyboard. I really like the small, light form but need to be able to see the keys in a dark room (or stage). The sales guy at the Apple store just told me to "crank the screen brightness and tilt the display down to light the keys". :D Yeah, uh no, the last thing I need in the dark is a brighter screen.

Also, it would be nice to get Thunderbolt I/O and (really dreaming now) higher capacity/cost effective SSD storage.

I think when you get a decent amount of SSD capacity without a huge price jack MBA sales will jump even more.

Yes, Parallels and VMware are better products, but that is not the point. Has no one else noticed the number of products Microsoft is canceling for the Mac. I do not believe that Microsoft sees a market for the Macintosh. This of course is purely a business perspective.

I for one think Apple will be taught a lesson in respect. The only logical solution is to kill off Mac Office universal binary support. If they want to run on the Intel platform, they can run on emulation.

It would not be much of a loss if Microsoft decided to pull the plug. Don't think they haven't taught about it. A three percent market share or 19 million desktop users does not even come close to the numbers that still use Windows 2000, never mind Windows 98. I of course don't wish this to happen, but it is one logical outcome.

That is the correct HTML. Make sure you're saving as plain text. If you happen to be using TextEdit, you can do so from the Format menu.

Unless I'm missing something, there isn't a quick way to get back to the front page from the forums. After I read the posts on one story/topic, I often go back to the main page to look at other news. (I know that Safari has snapback, but sometimes I come directly to the forums from an e-mail notification instead of the main site).

btw, Happy New Year to All! And thank you Arn for updating the site and reading our comments even on holidays.

It's down at the bottom of the page:

Return to Macrumors [linked] or MacBytes[linked]

I used to have the same problem until I noticed the tiny type.

Unfortunately, there's no link to get back to the DailyTunes home page when you've crawled into the forums.

I went on the same whim, but as to more showcase the work in another way than my website would do. It's now more a sort of blog for me that an actual way to find work... alas a blog I'm too busy/lazy to maintain.

I'm not entirely sure that professionals would use FB for that kind of finding a photographer for a job.
The last few jobs I had I picked up via google > my website, so I guess that's still the main road for people to go when in need of a photographer.

And ofcourse, then there's the whole "we'd like to own everything you add to FB" attitude of FB :)

leGrev Photography on Facebook, although I think it's more interesting to look at my website instead hehe.

I didn't either until I got an MBA 11 and found I used it 10X more than my MBP.

I don't think there's a way to do what you're doing. However, if you have a laptop that you can plug in, you can setup Internet Sharing and create a WiFi hotspot (password protected) using your laptop's wifi card.

Thanks. I was hoping to start leaving my laptop at home. A lot of hotels, even good hotels, don't have wi-fi in the rooms, but they do have a wired internet point of presence in every room. If I can't use an iPad under those circumstances, there's just no reason for me to get one.

I forgot to put my Apple playing cards out on the desk for the video shoot!

Anyway, here is a picture of them. I particularly like the Joker. (That's it, I think I'll do a decent quality scan of the Joker, and use that as my avatar...)

I also forgot my collection of Pepsi iTunes-winning caps. (Yes, I still have them all.)

I have problems with Mail after updating but everything else seems fine. It is a pain in the rear though. Mail icon bounces for ages in the dock before opening. Curiously enough though it opens first time on our network at work.

I managed to get it working on my new 27" iMac by editing a system file to fool Steam into believing that you are running 10.6.7 - I believe the 10.6.7 requirement is because of new ATI graphics drivers that were bundled with that release and therefore this is quite safe (as the 10.6.6 build on the new iMacs obviously has the drivers for the machine).

I've posted the full details at http://bendodson.com/weblog/2011/05/04/portal-2-on-the-new-imac-10-6-6/ but basically you need to change the SystemVersion.plist file in your /System/Library/CoreServices/ directory so that the two references to 10.6.6 are changed to 10.6.7 - Steam will still complain but when you say "continue anyway" it'll actually run.

    Enjoy!

I'm freakin sick of the ITMS.

I love iTunes and my iPod, but purchasing music that can only be put on an iPod is crap. There may be a better player out later which I want to go to and then *poof* my ITMS purchased tracks are crap.

    www.allofmp3.com

    It's (significantly) cheaper.

    It's better.

    'Nuff said.

AllofMP3 is exactly how all music selling sites should be. The possibility to choose exact what quality you want is great, no DRM is great, the price is of course also great.
If only the artists would get paid it would be perfect.
