Yes, of course u can use it as a pillow. We all do it. I use my MBP as a pillow and my iMac as something to hug when I go to sleep.

Not at this point. The time frame will probably be from when they announce the release date at WWDC in early June until the actual release if they don't announce a date at that time, it will be whenever they announce a date. Once they have told people when it is coming out, they don't want to hurt sales, so they offer the new OS.
Anyone buying from this past Tuesday until that announcement is not eligible for anything less than what anyone else would pay.
I ordered my new iMac yesterday but it will not even ship until 20 June with estimated delivery date of 25 June - if Lion is announced before they've even shipped it, what do you think then?

The Apple Store here is closing from 4-6 to get ready for the Leopard release. I can't see what they need 2 hours to get ready for.

Just noticed a weird issue that is slightly bugging me. I have my desktop wallpaper to cycle every 15 minutes. It works fine when not connected to an external display, but when I hook up my external monitor and set it as the primary, it doesn't cycle anymore. Whats even more odd is the MBP screen (secondary desktop) still cycles.
Any clue why?

Jailbreak tools don't help restore to earlier firmware. It's more the other way around -- people save SHSHs in case a jailbreak method requires a downgrade to earlier firmware. If you didn't save the SHSH, there's no way to downgrade, now or ever.
Thank for telling me how the Jailbreaks tools works
I didn't mean to say that new tool will allow him to downgrade without SHSHs, I meant to say that he is stuck until the new tool is release that can Jailbreak 4.3 and he can get all his stuff back. ;)

Yeh but ...... "every other sandy bridge computer is a 'PC' and Dell/HP appear to have more stock (sandy bridge) or in the process of ramping up production, when the news broke.
Yep and they'll have to right off that stock and/or get intel to cover the cost. The point is that this affects every computer maker. I'd not really single out one or two makers. What about Lenovo, they have sandy bridge computers, or Acer, Asus, or Gateway?

...even with a poultry 5400rpm HD.
I didn't know I had a poultry hard drive. But it explains a lot of the problems I have been having, like the feeling of being hen-pecked by Steve Jobs, and the funny noises I have been hearing from my MBP.
Tonight I am taking the bottom off and see if there are any eggs up there.

If there's any advantage to paper books, it's that you can take it places anywhere and don't need a computer. I had a job where I took books with me and would read when it was slow.
This is not much of an advantage, esp with iPads and other readers.
All my reading right now is eBooks! Easier to have several books open to cross-reference stuff too.

It was reported this morning that it's going to take 2 months for the 12 day west coast dock backlog to get caught up so everything we've been expecting soon may not show up much before MacWorld San Francisco 2003. It just depends where those drives are in the cue.
Even if they haven't been shipped from Japan yet, it's going to take longer for them to arrive because of this huge cue that has built up over these past 12 days. That includes things like the Pioneer DVR-A05 Quad Speed SuperDrive, the Yamaha External FireWire version of the CRW-F1, and the new PowerBooks that Apple has had to delay announcing because they're sitting on a ship that hasn't been able to be unloaded. So I think we're going to have to be extra patient about getting what we know is next.
Let's all remember that this was NOT a STRIKE by the workers but a LOCKOUT by management. Management did not negotiate in good faith and was willing to wait for the President to step in while Bananas and other perishable food rotted on those unserviced ships.

No. There is only one TB/MDP port (they share the same connector) on the 21". Only the 27" has two.
Thanks. So, the 27" iMac would support two external 22" hdmi/vga displays then?

Before you screw around with it too much, can you backup your stuff to an external drive or CD/DVD?
Just in case....
Also, I agree with emw - password protected folder is the way to go.

Hey Mvbalaj,
You're totally right! I did not even notice the correlation between WWF and the ads. It happens almost every time. I guess now that Zynga owns them they're spamming our backgrounds, as if the longer ads in the 'free' game weren't enough.
At least I know what it is now, and can kill it with SBSettings.
