It needs offline maps. Without that, it's pointless on an iPod Touch, or any WiFi-only device. If I could save just one city at a time: say I'm going to London, and I will need a map of London all day, then I could save a given radius of a London map and it would be handy.
What I do now is take screenshots of maps while I still have WiFi, but that's totally annoying to do.
Offline maps would take away income from the Cellular Providers. Also, putting a GPS in the Touch would take away from iPhone sales.
Both won't happen...

I'll probably do the business card for this guy, but if he approaches me with any larger projects, I'll most likely turn him down. :)
The larger projects are the ones you make your money on. Little jobs sometimes hardly warrant all the time in initial consultation, doing quotes, invoices, possibly banking cheques and other admin. So don't necessarily turn down good work, but just make sure you're setting your prices, not him. Charge him for every minute of author's corrections too, and make sure that's written on the quote that he signs to accept the job.
Oh, and I forgot to say before, if you do decide to take on any more work from him, make sure you get paid for these jobs first! He could be a non-payer, and then you'll really know what a nightmare client is all about!

Very cool! :D Maybe add something to the intel chip...it looks somewhat "naked"...:p
Thanks :) I cloned out "Xeon processor" from the intel chip because I wanted it to be generic.

Ha ha, I was thinking of this exact same Jude Judy case :) I can't believe people here are saying there's nothing wrong with this listing. It is absolutely in Ebay's interest to make sure these scammer ads are done away with.

People who pirate movies wouldn't have bought the movie in the first place.
I don't think I completely agree with that... Yeah, there are some who will pirate just because it's free, but there are also those who will do it because it's the only way to get content in the form they want it in. Back before iTMS, Napster was the only game in town for digital downloads.
Regardless of how people feel about copyright, if their only access to flexible content is the black market they'll go there.

Turn your EQ into a smile, remove all the mids and boost the tops and bass for that (rather horrid) crunchy, digital sounding distortion.
Sorry, not a fan of that sort of guitar sound really, it always sounds too processed and a little 'phoney', if that's the right way to describe it.
Good luck with the project though, it's always nice to hear people getting into audio work :)

With better cover around the world, and a few more moderating eyes hopefully spam and bad behaviour will be dealt with even faster than it has been.

I'm beginning to believe the term "sentient mammals" is more appropriately applied to dolphins than humans. At least the (R) kind.

I think you're probably right. This woman probably could have been in the room when it happened and still blame it on the girl.

Don't think iTunes can do this, but if the audio files aren't encrypted, you can use VLC to play them and disable the video via Video > Video Track > Disable.

This post answers my question. So it would be reasonable that one year from now a 3G shuffle could be 2 gigglebytes (reduces confusion :) )
Rocketman
So, 3G = 2GB? OK, Got it!
The only reason I could see for having the Shuffle larger then 1GB would be for people like me who have higher bit rates and still want a fair number of songs on it. I sample at MP3 320Kb with VBR on high. With my 60GB (no, friends, that is not the 60th generation iPod, but rather 60 gigabytes), I have lots of room for my large files.

I am SpyMac Club member until late and I must say most features are close to useless...forums are a mess, I don't have time for blogging/webdesigning, one takes a long while to upload something to the online disk and syncing is sketchy...
This means that .Mac is still pretty far off for me as well...after all, I can barely cope with answering my own emails...:(
u certainly had time to post a message on this board though

Bite me. People need to have more tolerance to other religions. Period. Christianity is not the only religion on the planet, though some seem to think it should be.
Whaaaa!!! An anonymous poster on a computer website doesn't think like I do! Whaaaa!!!!
Practice what you preach, punk.

Stop with the FUD already. Businesses operating in the EU cannot do this. Just because corporations in the USA can, doesn't mean the rest of the world is the same...
And I'm sure that the FT has no subscribers in the US, hence they don't care about subscriber information and the ability to sell it out ...
Oh, wait, they just turned down the ability to drastically increase readership and better serve their existing readers while saving in printing and distribution costs and reducing their billing processing needs, so that they could preserve the income from selling that subscriber information.
I don't think it's FUD. It's simple logic. If they are going to the mat to protect a revenue stream, it is unreasonable to assume that that revenue stream is insignificant.

it cracks me up that people are making a big deal of 64bit. Sure, it'd be nice, but I'd rather have the software be multithreaded worth a rat's ass, and work properly.
Nothing quite brings the same joy to my heart as starting a render in FCP and having a look at Activity Monitor, and seeing a whopping two cores in use. Or having to export a QT file first because I can't send directly to Compressor.
Amen to that. Nothing like working on an 8 core machine and seeing that happen.
