When you took the screenshot, the shot screen loads in a new Preview window. Press CMD+A, then CMD+C to copy it.
Or use the shortcuts listed here (http://guides.macrumors.com/Taking_Screenshots_in_Mac_OS_X).
Ok, thanks.

The MBP arrived today - it's condition is immaculate, even the box is perfect. I found exactly one hair in the keyboard - that's the only sign it was used, ever. This seller has been very professional and has provided great communication throughout our transaction. I would definitely buy from him again.

i want to be able to hit my machine remotely and get to ~/Documents. i've gotten htaccess working in /Library/WebServer/Documents and made a symbolic link (ln -s) from there to my Documents directory.
% pwd
/Library/WebServer/Documents
% ls -l D*
lrwxrwxr-x 1 root admin 20 Jul 8 00:05 Documents@ -> /Users/zim/Documents
%
when i try to browse to Documents, i get "Forbidden / You don't have permission to access /Documents/ on this server."
i stuck my .htaccess file into that directory, but same thing.
any ideas?

Folks,
Just a few clicks away from ordering a G4, 1.25, single,
512MB, 64MB ATI radeon, 80GB superdrive system...
off the apple store advertised system
A few questions before I say...."I Do".....Hoping until
death, do us part.
Please help me make the choice for the right configuration
of the system, for the following uses.
Home DVD
Mostly want to use the apple as a digital hub...
have 8mm tapes from 94 and now got a sony digital handycam
for video....want to covert it all to DVD's.
Will be going for an ipod (15GB)...
Have a canon powershot g1 and want to organize all the pics
from the zoom browser.
Want to go with the 512MB memory.....need more? less?
comments?
2nd DVD/CD drive.....does it serve any purpose..?
Let's say about 50 hours of recording.....Would the 60GB
hard drive be sufficient?
do i need the 128 MB nvidia card that is standard on the G4
advertised on the store system, ($1900+) or can i make to
with the 64MB radeon?
1 1.25GHz processor is sufficient for movie editing and
DVD, or is the dual processor utterly necessary?
Should I go with the apple monitor, (17 inch Studio) ...
really steep price.....want to buy it later....will the G4 work
with a normal crt monitor that i Have? wanted to shop around
for a good LCD? how important is the power/usb/digital connection? what is so great about apple monitors? aren't they
just OEM'ing? who makes apple's displays?
.MAC? is this useful? any catches? what is the real benefit
other than virus protection? does mcafee/norton offer similar
services for mac?
the apple protection? will i be using the $249? or is apple
h/w really great that i would never need to use it? does this
cover dead pixels on monitors etc? will apple replace under
warranty?
Thanks!
Help me make the switch.

Permissions should be 744 I guess (all-read-read), maybe 755.
.htaccess files are inherited. Put one in your root directory, and all directories will be 'protected'. :)
You may of course over-write the inherited .htaccess parameters for a given directory with a new .htaccess file. In turn, this new file will cascade down to all sub-directories.
Or you can edit the httpd.conf file. For the DocumentRoot, you will see a <Directory> directive. Simply put -Indexes in the Options tag. Be sure to check throughout the file. The Apache default is to make the DocumentRoot very strict, then loosen the perms later on.
I personally prefer this method over .htaccess files, just for the cleanliness of the web directories. Also, it eliminates any file permission security holes that may pop up.
EDIT: If you choose .htaccess files, do _not_ use 744 or 755. You want these to be 644, maximum.

Have you tried to use an external monitor, that would tell you if your gfx chip is bad.
Yes, external monitor looked like the second photo. Now everything is back looking like the first photo.

I've been a PC user all my life...until yesterday. I just bought my first Mac. Now I want to know if there is any way that I can move my iTunes library from my PC to my PowerBook without having to rip all of my cds again.
I moved the actual song files onto my iPod in hard drive mode and then copied them to my PowerBook, but now my PowerBook will not let me import those songs into iTunes.
Suggestions? Am I SOL?
Actually, you only need to copy your whole library to the iPod's hard drive portion, then drag the entire folder to the iTunes icon on your Mac. iTunes will automatically look for songs to copy and add them to your library as needed.

Are you saying that you are not impressed by this feature just because it doesn't fit YOUR need, even though you emphasize that it works very well if you have a small screen (most Mac users have the laptop)?
Runs smooth as butter on my 11" 2GB machine.
I am saying that this feature isn't very important to me. I know that for people with relative small displays or other needs, that full screen is a good idea (as I said before).
I am still giving Full screen mode a chance. I have been using mail and Safari in full screen the whole day and I am trying to find reasons to use it, but I think it doesn't fit in my workflows.

TEK - QUESTION - the glue...you can use standard rubber cement? It doesn't have to be a special kind of thermal glue or anything??
I have not had a problem yet. You use thermal paste when attaching a heat sink because the compound actively assists in transferring heat away from the processor and to the heat sink.
The purpose of adhering the heat sensor is only to keep it in contact with the part that is being monitored. As long as the adhesive doesn't break down in nasty ways under 60C - 90C then all should be fine.
I am using standard Elmers rubber cement. $1.44 for a jar at wally world.

I had a "stock" dual 533MHz G4 w/512MB RAM and it ran great - I ripped/burned backup DVDs, ripped my CDs with iTunes, made my own DVDs with iMovie/iDVD, played Diablo II and a little Call of Duty. etc. etc. it did everything except the games perfectly - Halo and Call of Duty really needed a faster machine.
Now that I've added all the stuff in my sig that same G4 hums along nicely - I can run everything I want to run.

I just purchased the base model 27" last night and had the same query. A friend confirmed that if only using for photo/video editing, 512mb is enough, RAM upgrade is more important which you can do in future.
So the GPU btw 512mb/1GB doesnt make alot different ?
I think to get MarBookPro add RAM to 8GB (more portable usage for travel)
13-inch: 2.7 GHz or 15-inch: 2.0 GHz ? (main for H.264 & Photo edit) AdobeCS5/FCP/LR/AP3
pls advice.

FAQ:
1) original/replacement/refurbish which one is best?
Since you have spent so much on MBP why not choose the original one.
If you bought used MBP, too old to buy a new original, you can choose Grade A replacement or a refurbish seller you trust.
2) Why I can't track original adapters from Apple Store?
If not buy from Apple directly, most time you can't. Apple don't accept it in fact, because these adapters get from OEM directly.
Trading Companies call it Gray Market, most original adapters are not brand new. QC from Apple is very strict, adapter with little scratch or even a tiny spot should be destoryed. And that's maybe what you get.
If some friends have more questions pls leave your message.
