You should learn how to use PHP to feed information from a language file instead, like the method I used on Too Cool For IE (http://www.w3junkies.com/toocool/)
If you feel that something is bad, then as a web designer, you need to stand up to those above you and explain why it is bad and convince them of a better way to do something. They will respect you more if you start contributing ideas and things that will work better than if you just do what they say and never give any input at all.
lol obviosly you've never worked in our office, "best choice" or "better" don't come into play :P

most TVs don't include an audio in port for the HDMI.
you can use something like
this (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=101&cp_id=10114&cs_id=1011405&p_id=5369&seq=1&format=2) - a dvi and digital audio combiner, that outputs HDMI.
and one of these (http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10229&cs_id=1022902) toslink to mini cable to connect audio from your computer to the box.
and one of these (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10209&cs_id=1020901&p_id=2685&seq=1&format=2) dvi cables to connect your computer to the box.
you'll also need an HDMI male to male, to plug the box into your TV.
also look at your TV manual, or if you're using an external stereo that has digital inputs. the toslink to mini cable might come in handy.

It's not too bulky, i actually really like the look of it..much better than the previous gen otterboxes
And of course very protective and theoretically water resistant, though I wouldn't go testing this on purpose
Good investment though

Has anybody powered an FW800 drive from an FW400 port?
Because the time I tried to power FW400 from FW800 it didn't work.

Custom 10.6.5 made specifically for that model line. As far as I know, there are only 10.6.0 and 10.6.3 retail Snow Leopard disks.
BLAAAAA!!!
So I cant do it with a DVD at all? WTH? Seems very inconvenient to need the special USB install media.

Go into Windows Explorer and right click on the disk (if you mean the CD or DVD) and select "EJECT".
Btw, the OPTION key is not used to eject optical media from the ODD, the EJECT key on the top right of the keyboard is used for that.

My questions are... Could I still use the G5 as some kind of server for the rest of the macs in the house, what would I need to install and what benefits would I get from doing this?
Sorry it's such a broad question, but I think it'd be a shame to stop using the G5 as I still feel it's a great machine.
It all depends on what kind of service(s) you want the server to provide.

hi all,
i will be going to university tomorrow, and shall be living in a hall of residence with other students.
i realise that many student nowadays have wireless capable computers, and i wish to purchase an airport express station to have wireless flexibility in my room. is there any way of putting a password or authentication key on the connection so only i and people that i designate will be able to use it?
any advice much appreciated.

I'd almost agree with you on this, but plastic MacBooks are incredibly flimsy machines.
My first apple laptop was a first gen macbook (plastic). It was pretty sturdy I thought. It scratched easily, but that's it. It survived a fair share of bumps and lumps. I got rid of it because I needed more screen...

G5 Powerbooks aren't coming out time soon, while the heat output of the 970 has been somewhat alleviated by the 970FX, the system controller chip still produces a large amount of heat; removing it or using one operating a lower speed would defeat the point of using a 970 anyway. I expect the G4 powerbooks to hit 1.5 Ghz before the switch to the G5.

Hey y'all. This is probably wishful thinking, but how would you go about storing and managing a 110,000 song (650GB) iTunes library on a wireless network drive?
The setup wasn't hard, but it' SO SLOW!
I plugged the 2TB USB drive with the library into an Airport Extreme, connected to it over the wireless network, opened iTunes while holding 'alt', and chose the library on the network drive. Unfortunately, it's so slow that scrolling and searching are next to impossible. And forget about AirTunes!
The goal would be to have that whole library accessible from my laptop and then played through AirTunes speakers.
Like I said, this is probably just wishful thinking, but has anyone else set up a system like this?
