Appreciate any feedback on personal experiences with visitor's medical insurance coverage. My in-laws are planning to visit this summer and I am trying to see what would be the best available option out there based on your recent experiences. There are plenty of options and I am trying to find one which the hospital/doctor can file a claim directly to or which have negotiated rates and are easy to deal with after we file a claim for reimbursement. I have read that buying insurance in US is preferred over buying from India. Any comments on that appreciated as well.

I have a valid H-1B valid till 18th feb 2011 for employment with my previous employer. I had changed employment and now have I797C for the new employer valid till Nov 2011. I plan to go to India and be back in 1 week, my employer would issue me a leave approval letter. My present employer is a big hospital-non profit and I am a health professional.
Can some one tell if would need to get a new visa stamped if I come back by 15th January 2011. What documents should I carry. Should I talk to a lawyer before I leave. My mom is stable now but I am afraid If dont go now, I might not be able to gor a long time as I dont want to get re-stamping done.
Please advice
Just GO ....and stay for a longer time (atleast a month !!!)...r u a doctor or a nurse ..either way you are in a profession which will always be in demand

IV on Bay Area TV - FOX-2 (KTVU)
Pratik Dakwala of Immigration Voice was interviewed by KTVU, a local Fox affiliate of San Francisco Bay area. The name of the interviewer was Priya David.
The program will be telecast between 5PM and 6PM Pacific standard time and the interview is about 5-6 minutes long.
Dont live in Bay area:
If you dont live in San Francisco/San Jose area, you can see the link that they would upload on website : http://www.ktvu.com/index.html. We will post the link here once available.
If you live in San Francisco/Bay area:
This will be probably available only in Bay Area and nearby areas where they can have KTVU Fox-2. The good thing is, since this is a local channel, I dont think you need cable to see this. However, if you do have cable I am sure you can see it, but then I am not sure whether it will be channel 2 or some other channel.
This is one more media coverage event in the series of events that has helped immigration voice highlight the problems of legal employment-based immigrants. Company A applied I-140 and approved April 2006. AOS 485 filed on July 2007. Got EAD but never used it
September 2008 I have Joined employer �B� by transferring H1B (Valid until Aug 2010).
Employer A revoked 140 which triggered 485 denials in October 2008.
Applied MTR and it was approved in NOVEMBER 2008 and 485 reopened.
Questions
----------
Now Will I able to renew my H1B? Using pending 485 more than 365 days?If so will able to get 3 years renewal?
Will the past 140 revoke issue, trigger any RFE?
When I send my all H1B renewal papers, do I need to enclose my 485 receipt copy? or also the MTR(Motion to Reopen)copy?

I entered USA from SFO on Aug 15 with AP. No questions asked. They only asked for AP and advised me to renew it as the current AP is expiring in December.

I was trying to use the Free Conference Call service to ask a question to the lawyer but was informed that the access code 388991 is incorrect. Has it been changed? If so, can someone provide the new code.

Yes. You can file another FOIA to get the I-140 approval notice.
You want to specify that you're looking for a copy of I-797 of the I-140 approval for receipt number LINXXXXXXXXXX. That should get you the approval notice.
A friend filed the FOIA with this verbiage and it worked for him. Of-course, he had to reference his Alien number etc... in the G-639 form.

Hi, I'm a citizen of India got married to an Indian citizen in U.S in 2004 and got the marriage license from a county (It is important to note that a marriage license is valid only in the County in which it is issued). We did not marry under foreign act. Will this be considered as a valid marriage as per Indian marriage act? Please advice.
We are yet to get married in India. We are planning to apply I-485 with martial �single� independently because we can�t apply as married due to family reasons.
Will this cause any problem during background check?

Hello,
My I485 was filed at TX center. However it was transferred to VSC for data entry and they generated the receipt number.
Receipt date = 03-Aug-2007
Notice Date = 12-Oct-2007
On 20-Oct, VSC then transferred the case back to TSC and generated a transfer notice with date of 20-Oct-2007
For the AC21/180 day I always thought that the counting would start in my case from 03-Aug. However my company lawyer says that it will start from 20-Oct and I am at a complete loss on this..
Is it really true.
This is really urgent since I stand to lose out big time on an excellent job offer.
What are my options here - Is there any documentation that I can show to him that I am correct (If I am).

So, please make sure that you send those supporting documents with the e file receipt to USCIS. They give out the address and instructions at the end of the application which are easy to follow.
Nevertheless, I e Filed EAD too and did not send any supporting documents and they approved it without issuing any RFE. They used an older picture from my previous EAD.
