I'm so surprised that no one is claiming that the white iPhone will be the next model released. Lots of rumors out there that the next version of the iPhone will not be a major release, but simply a specs upgrade. That seems to me the perfect time to "launch" the white iPhone.
I honestly don't see the big deal behind this. I prefer the black model anyways.

In my view I don't see a problem with apple telling us more about this product.
Well that's all well and good, but what do you want us to do about it? Nobody who knows any further info is willing to talk.

So, who's lining up tomorrow? If all goes as planned, I should be at the Eaton Centre's Apple Store at 1PM, hopefully it won't be too late. Anybody there as well? :D
Probably Square One for me.

Gotcha. So I think the best way to handle this would be to use Apache to handle all requests for both servers, and set up a ReverseProxy to handle traffic that should go to the Ruby server.
Check this site out: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/vhosts/examples.html
And this site for ReverseProxy: http://www.ehow.com/how_6108865_configure-apache-reverse-proxy.html
So, your config file in Apache should similar to this (be sure to enable the proxy module):
Listen 172.20.30.40:80
# This is the "main" server running on 172.20.30.40
ServerName server.domain.com
DocumentRoot /www/mainserver
# This is the other address - the one handling requests for Ruby
NameVirtualHost 172.20.30.50:80
<VirtualHost 172.20.30.50:80>
# Other directives here ...
ProxyRequests off
ProxyPass / http://localhost:8080
ProxyPassReverse / http://localhost:8080
</VirtualHost>
Then obviously you need to ensure your DNS server is set so the domain names are pointing to ther right IP addresses.
You could also filter out on the ServerName in apache to determine which server handles your traffic...or do both to be consistent.

I myself like the 300Gb maxtor, it is a little bit noiser then the seagate but the 16mb cache does make it feel snappy. Besides it makes the most sense in $. It is jus a little bit more than less storage and a lot less than those with 400 or 500Gb. My 2 cents.
For 3 platters you can get a 400GB Seagate.

Just curious. I got my new pb and am overall very very happy with it. But i am a biologist and work that i do requires up close scrutinay of several photographs. These horizontal lines make that very annoying. If this is a software problem i wont be that discouraged, but if it is hardware i may have to get a pre-october refurb. Anyone have any insight into this issue?
Another possibility is that the problem is in the wetware. Some uses see it others don't. It might be that some hardware has it. It might be that Apple had it in the initial machines but not now. I say that because I just got a PowerBook 15" and the screen is beautiful. No lines. No flicker. No waves. Bright and crisp. I love it.

Try a Thinkpad T-series. Best-built for the money, with user-replaceable parts (try finding that on most machines today), and a keyboard that puts all others to shame.
Agreed. In fact, IBM/Lenovo and Apple have historically been the only companies that could build a laptop that survive a year or more in my loving care xD
Looking back, every Apple laptop I've owned since my PB1400, barring one of the two 12" AlBooks that just got dropped one too many times still works. The same can be said of my T20, T30, and the cheap Lenovo N200 I bought when I thought I wouldn't be able to afford the MacBook I'm using now.
In the same time, I've killed Dells, Sonys, various MSI and Mitac machines badged as unheardof manufacturers, so YMMV, but I'll stick to Apple and Lenovo. Sonys tend to feel just as flimsy as all the others IMHO, but maybe I've only had the misfortune to meet their lower end machines.

Whilst it's hardly the prettiest machine in the world (or maybe the thinest) this laptop (http://www.mobilityguru.com/2005/12/05/ati_mobility_radeon_x1600/page4.html) as this new chip. It'd imagine that Apple could better this in terms of thinness and still use this GPU.

You'll probably have to try it to find out for sure.
However, a google search for IOConnectCallMethod found this:
http://lists.apple.com/archives/darwin-drivers/2008/mar/msg00007.html
It suggests IOConnectCall* functions are newer replacements for older deprecated functions. So using the older functions WOULD get you rejected, but the newer ones, I dunno: try it and see what happens.
Yeah, there's reference to them in the 64 bit porting guide but little of any use:
http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/Darwin/Conceptual/64bitPorting/KernelExtensionsandDrivers/KernelExtensionsandDrivers.html%23//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40001064-CH227-SW1

I'm usually the first one to eat up 2nd versions of gaming consoles (i'd loveee the HDMI), but I've come to love the white color, especially with my E3 faceplate :D Hopefully they'll add the 65nm chip and HDMI to the white x360 soon.

I'm a little confused, I understand the OSX and bootcamp win7 on the SSD but why are you partitioning the 750GB HDD? You might want to format the 750GB as mac osx journaled and get macdrive for win7, that way windows can write to both the bootable osx and the 750GB drive.
I have one drive with 3 partitions. SL, Lion and win7 and can share files between each OS. Just a suggestion... :)
I understand that part of the equation, but I was wondering if windows would give me the option to install programs (like office and photoshop) to the second hard drive. For example, would the installer be able to tell that it is a hard drive that windows can use to install programs?

I don't care if I don't own my music, I still can listen to it whenever I want, what I do care about is my favorite artists getting a bigger bit of the cake when it comes to what I spend. Stick it to the recording studios... as long as the prices don't increase to compensate their greedy little pockets.
