I had signed up a couple of days ago, and low and behold: I didn't receive a e-mail either. Oh well, I couldn't contain my excitement and went to the Apple website anyway! :D

I have been a PC user for basicly my entire life, but I have never exactly been happy with it. The thing would crash, have the BSoD, but that is not really why i switched.
Basicly I got tired of the Windows Operating System, Bill Gates, and the millions of PC Viruses. I needed a notebook for college in the fall, and I picked up a 17" PowerBook G4 because it suites all of my needs and it replaces the need for a desktop for quite some time. I have enjoyedm first week as a Mac User because everything has worked so well, and I am actually used to all of the windows opened at the same time now! (I never understood before untill I actually spent hours upon hours with the thing)
I have now become addicted to iTunes and have puchased 68 songs in my first week. :D Another reason why I wanted the Mac is because of Final Cut Pro. I love watching and making movies so I felt that the Mac would be the best thing for me... The last movie I made was on my Pentium 4 box and I nearly threw it out of the window because it was so evil... Hopefully the Mac is more kind. I have not started to edit video on my Mac yet, but that is because I have not had the time.
I like my "little" 17" PowerBook because it works great and everyone I have shown it off to has been really amazed by it.

ha! i actually bought this cd off itunes a few months ago. could do with some more sequencing and layering. but what it is great for is sampling. i took one of the ink cartridge hitting the side of the caseing sounds and processed it into a kick drum. heres a rough mix.

Wow that's amazing. How much did it cost roughly and how long did it take you to collect so many?

A lot of linux ditros work without a graphics card, problem is you might need embedded hardware that is designed to work without a graphics card.
Cheapest way to build a headless pc is to get a cheap ass dell (yes, i know im sorry!!! :( ) with cheap ass integrated graphics, cofigure the machine, and then once its up and running to allocate less memory to the graphics card and more to the OS to increase performance.

i would think that the main problem in modding the inaards of the PB to fit an AE card would be space. The AE card is shorter and wider than the original style airport card. That and the interfaces are different. I may be wrong, but I think that the AE card is more like a PCI card, and the original card is more like a a PCMCIA card. SOmeone may correct me if they wish.

@blevins321:
Thanks for the suggestion, it's very useful. I've already done that for my dad, and it works when he saves contacts through the contacts app.
The main issue is that Apple has made it (rightfully so) very intuitive to save a contact from the dialer or recent-calls menu. all you have to do is click the right-arrow and you'll be able to "add to contacts", which dumps it into the iphone-contacts folder, instead of exchange, regardless of the default contact view in the contacts app.
I myself don't add contacts through the contacts app, as I normally key in the number in the dialer then hit the "+" button to create a contact :/

I've read through several different things online and can't seem to find the answer anywhere. I'm going to purchase a 13" Macbook Pro here in the next few weeks and was planning on purchasing AppleCare coverage with it. However I have no Apple Stores near me. I do, however, have two Authorized Service Providers within ten miles of me. Do the Authorized Service Providers honor the AppleCare protection? If the HDD crashes, overheating problems, battery issues, etc will they fix it for free under my AppleCare plan? Or would I have to send it through the mail to Apple and have them fix it?
I've read differing views online. On Apple's AppleCare page it says "Apple may provide service through one or more of the following options: carry-in service (to Apple Retail Stores or Apple Authorized Service Providers), customer drop-off (to UPS stores in the U.S., for iPod and iPhone only), direct mail-in service, onsite service (for desktop computers), or Do-It-Yourself (DIY) parts (so you can service your own product)." I wasn't sure if that meant you can get it repaired (at your cost without voiding the warranty) at Authorized Service Providers or if it meant that the ASPs will honor the AppleCare coverage and fix it for free.
Thanks for your help...

You used the "Copy Image Address" option via the right click menu or did you copy the image address via the address bar?

I would honestly trust OWC more than Apple. They are that good.
I have bought many things from OWC over the years and have had a great experience with all of it.

That's what I was going to say. It's probably got nothing to do with DRM as they allow analog out to work.
HDMI is not an analog signal.
HDCP makes sure the content path is protected and only displayed via approved paths/methods.
If you're sending the output via HDMI, HDCP and DRM will prevent it from working if it fails the DRM check.
The Netflix app simply doesn't allow the stream to be redirected.
Same thing applies to their desktop app and even the app built into many TV's and Blu-Ray players.
The stream can only be sent to a device (TV, Video card, etc.) once it passes HDCP and DRM checks.
Older LCD's will still pass the check if the HDMI interface is secured.
Adapters tend to cause this check to fail.
The old HDTV's with DVI interface's are hit and miss on passing the HDCP check.
